Case Study

Having invested in a new ERP system and designed new processes, which was going to substantially change the operational capabilities of the company, the leadership team of an international manufacturing company recognised the need to intentionally design the resultant organisation.


Our consultants facilitated a series of organisation design workshops to help them:


  • Articulate value proposition & success indicators, arising from current strategy
  • Identify organisational capabilities, to provide strategic advantage

Innovation, Strategy & Organisation Design

Case Study

Having worked very closely with an engineering consultancy, to increase their management and leadership capability, Irial was asked to facilitate an innovation workshop with their top 20+ leaders. As we worked through the areas of innovation, it became apparent that they didn’t have a clear strategy. They had gone into the workshop assuming they’d continue with the same old. Challenging them to think what would make a strategic difference, they realised that breaking the connection between revenue and billable hours would transform their business.


Arising out of the workshop, they identified a potential business opportunity that they decided to invest in. As a result, they re-designed their organisation and requested that Irial would road test it for them. Working with key members of the leadership team, we walked through their design. Much of it was on the money and they took great comfort, knowing it stacked up with their future strategy. There was one aspect though, that didn’t seem to quite fit, which they had concerns over too. Irial was able to articulate the disconnect and, talking through it, we concluded that the design made sense for their current needs and, as business grew further, it could evolve and align with the rest of the business.
